INTRODUCTION

It is with great sense of humility and loyalty and with esteemed gratitude to God, that I join my Chancellor, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi (CON) the Aku Uka of Wukari, Taraba State and Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Umaru F. Abdullahi, Esq., to welcome your Excellency, the Visitor, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, ably represented by the Minister of Education, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili to the 18th and 19th Combined Convocation Ceremonies and Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. I also most sincerely welcome all other distinguished personalities to these ceremonies.
